At the G8 summit in Deauville, France, Naoto Kan will announce that all new buildings will be fitted with solar panels by 2030. This will be compulsory. The plan is been seen as a bold step and as a precedent. For our taste, 2030 is still a little far away, but if copied by other countries, this could lead to speed-up development in the alternative energy sector, followed by a price drop.
